Description

Winning Chess Strategies

Take your chess to the next level - learn to think like a chess master...

Join Chess Master Pete Prochaska as he shares his straightforward, logical approach to winning chess.  Chess is a complicated, challenging game.  However, many players make it much more difficult than they need to.  Learn how a master evaluates the key elements of a position and uses that understanding to develop winning strategies.  Learn the tactics a master uses to implement those strategies to win game after game.  Each 90-minute class combines instruction--often in the context of the colorful history of this remarkable game--with hands-on skill-building exercises.  Students also refine both their understanding and their skills in weekly tournament games against other class members.  These games are played online between classes to allow more time for these games than is available during class.

Winning Chess Strategies meets Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 -6:00 Pacific time on Zoom.  The 12-week fall session runs from September 18th to December 4th.  Course tuition is $295.  If you have questions, please contact us at 503-504-5756 or [email protected] .

Pete also teaches students in either private or smaller group sessions.  This allows him to customize his training methods and materials to the specific goals and needs of each student.  Over the past two decades, Pete’s students have won 105 Oregon championship titles, as well as finishing on the podium in numerous state, regional and national events.  Pete currently has openings for a few additional private students.  Please contact him if you would like further information (503-504-5756 or chessmasterpete@gmail.com).

Pete Prochaska has been recognized by the US Chess Federation as a Chess Master since 1987, and as a Life Chess Master since 1993.  He was initially trained by the legendary George Koltanowski.
